Genereal Arrangement S:A MidsjöbankarnaThe Challenge – Carbon Trust - UK

The Carbon Trust launched an competition to find foundations that are:
• Technically fit for water depths of 30-60metres
• Will cut current life-cycle costs-from design and building through to operation and decommissioning by some 30%

Goal setting principles:
- Cost efficiency
- Ease of deployment
- Environmentally viable solutions

The Challenge - OWA Competition

The goal of the competition is to take the best new designs for offshore
wind turbine foundations from design through research and development
to deployment.

The Offshore Wind Accelerator programme itself is a wider collaboration
between the Carbon Trust and five of the leading international players in
offshore wind farms developing technology and process in Wake Effect
Modelling; Access Transportation UK round 3 Access, & Logistics; and Electrical Systems in
addition to Foundation Design.

For foundation design Carbon Trust are looking for the most innovative,
cost effective and robust turbine foundation designs for different deeper
offshore conditions.
